Doglas Mendoza

Although he has been living out of his native land for more than twelve years, Douglas Mendoza has his memory full of the colorful landscape of La Guajira and, as an innovator juggler, instead of telling his stories through music he uses color and the texture, taking risks by moving away from the forms and abandoning himself, almost erotically, over his work, to give life to an imaginary that he had not discovered until the last stroke was transformed into the beginning of a new story on the canvas.

The smells, the songs of the birds and the cool breeze that came from the Sierra Nevada to their town are permanently recreated in the soul of Douglas Mendoza refusing to die in oblivion and becoming present in each feature of his work where the Lyric abstractionism leads the observer to invent his own story.
